My favorite time of year is officially here! I love everything about the fall. The cooler weather, layered clothing AND it means crockpot season at our house. Nothing is better than snuggling up on the couch with your best blanket and a big bowl of chili while watching your husband yell at the tv because clearly the mountaineers got the third down.
One of my favorite parts of fall is decorating my home. I think it is all the beautiful colors. Something about all the reds, oranges and yellows just make your home feel so warm and cozy. And maybe my near thirty is showing but damn I love mums, give me two in every color please.
Today I wanted to share my fall home decor. I will also share some favorites I recently saw at Kirkland’s in case you are still on the look out for some good decor.
The first thing I want to share is our mantel, my favorite thing to decorate for any season or holiday. This was hand built by my husband and in laws. It is simple yet a special piece in our home. Most items are newer and purchased at Hobby Lobby. The white window is actually from a friends wedding, it was pulled from an old barn and used as a decorations and later gave to me. Another special piece. The picture frames are a few years old from TJ Maxx. The eucalyptus I dried myself from my best friend’s wedding shower. I have it placed through out and it smells amazing even months later. The cute pumpkin garland I found at TJ Maxx along with the blanket tossed over some old pillows. My big boy loves to take the blanket off and lay with it. This spot is just so cozy!
The next spot is our tv stand. Ignore the cords, my husband thinks I am a diva for wanting them hidden in the wall so for now distraction it is. I placed the dried eucalyptus in with some stems from Hobby Lobby. The vase, candles and candle holders are also from Hobby Lobby. Picture frames and runner are from Tj Maxx.
Next is our entry way. I have probably changed this spot more than any place in our house and probably always will because it is the first thing people see when they come into our home. I had been on the look out for a good bench forever and happened to run up on this one at Hobby Lobby on sale and just had to have it. I placed some velvet pillows from TJ along with a small basket for miscellaneous items and done!
Our dinning area is a long room with a small sitting area as your enter the room, forever this space has stayed pretty empty because we do not spend a lot of time in there but I made a goal to use the space more and I have been loving the change. It has became a great spot to sip on some coffee and has the best natural light. The chair is my absolute favorite, I originally found for Banks nursery at Urban Outfitters. I would honestly love to have two for the space but unfortunately I haven’t been able to find it. The throw, basket, decorative pumpkin and pouf are all TJ Maxx finds. The rug is from Lowe’s and a Nicole Miller.
Our kitchen table is pretty simple with a carved wood bowl from Kirkland’s and some pumpkin filler from TJ and dried eucalyptus.
Lastly has become one of my favorite spots in our home. We had our farm table hand built by my husband, his grandfather and his parents. A very special piece we are so proud of. Now that we have grown into a family of four we have started eating dinner at our more formal table more often and I have found myself keeping it dressed. What is better than a beautifully dressed dinning table? My girl friends and I are planning a monthly brunch where we will rotate houses. My house being the first in October I knew I wanted a fall setting. All the decor is from Hobby Lobby and plate settings from Jared’s late grandmother. The eucalyptus in the garland is fake and I used to stabilize the stems I placed through out. I love the deep colors with the pop of green.
Just for fun here are a couple photos of my big boy Miles helping me pick the perfect mums. He was so proud carrying them to the car and gave momma the sweetest love for his very own pumpkin he picked.
That is all for my fall home decor. I will share some Kirkland’s favorites below and you can click the links to shop. Happy Fall Y’all!
